Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
This policy explains what information NimbleFax collects, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to fax your documents and bill you, we don't sell your data, and we don't read your faxes.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a cryptographic hash).
- Fax content and metadata — the documents you send and receive, the fax numbers involved, timestamps, page counts, and delivery status.
- Billing information — purchases, credit balances, and subscription status. Card numbers are collected and stored by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage and technical data — log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
- Transmit and deliver your faxes, and show you their status and history.
- Operate your account, process payments, and manage credits and subscriptions.
- Send you service emails: receipts, delivery notices, and getting-started tips. You can opt out of non-essential emails.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and junk-fax violations.
- Improve and troubleshoot the service.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run NimbleFax:
- A telecommunications carrier, to transmit your faxes to their destination and deliver inbound faxes to you.
- A payment processor, to charge you for purchases and subscriptions.
- An email delivery provider, to send account and service emails.
- Cloud hosting and database providers, to store and serve the application securely.
These providers may process your information only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
Your faxes are your business
We do not read, review, or mine the content of your faxes. Fax documents are accessed by automated systems only as needed to transmit, store, and display them to you. Limited personnel may access content only when required to resolve a delivery problem you reported, investigate abuse, or comply with law.
Data retention
We keep your account and fax records while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify fax content within a reasonable period, while retaining transaction and billing records as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. You can delete individual faxes from your history at any time.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level isolation between accounts to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Many of these actions are self-service in the app; for anything else, email support@nimblefax.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what we collect and to request deletion; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and operate the app. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
NimbleFax is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The "last updated" date above shows the current version.
